City of Stirling Heritage Award Winner 2016

You may be just as suprised as i am. FINESPUN winning a Heritage Award! The John Street Inglewood project took out the Category One - Conservation of the Built Environment and Streetscape at the 2016 City of Stirling Heritage Awards. We battled words with the City of Stirling on this one, as we wanted to introduce a modern extension to the original house - but we lost. The Councils outdated policies in certain heritage prencincts forces designers to use 'mock heritage' for extensions, methods which to me result in poor adaptations of the wonderful crafts of those eras.

Nonetheless we continued to work with the Council to obtain approval, along with Vince from Vintage Building Co. who is one of the most capable builders / site supervisors ive met with a real passion for details. He worked wonders on this one. Well deserved.
