A detached addition to an existing historic dwelling on a corner lot. The brief was provide a multi-function studio space for creative pursuits and a garage zone below for additional laundry, car parking and workshop area.

Complex site constraints forced the building on boundary and offered a unique opportunity to interact with the streetscape whilst at the same time concealing the new pool and deck areas behind for private landscaped areas.

The southern light is celebrated for consistent day light through the translucent polycarbonate roof faces. The material palette refined to avoid competing with the intricate detailing of the existing dwelling. A super thanks to Mark and Jon at Marocchi Engineering Group for bringing those old school trusses to life.
