A year ago, we were racing for the finish line to have the Gage Roads Freo venue ready for summer opening - the 100 year old timber wharf shed was coming back to life. Im usually not one for awards - but it was great to see this project shortlisted amongst many and then receive a commendation in the Conservation or Adaptive Reuse category.

The Heritage Council WA Awards are now in the 30th year - which is super. Its great to see such renewed interest from developers in heritage, history and culture and what adaptive re-use projects can bring to a development. Just like people, older buildings have wrinkles, scars and stories - this passage through time creates character...... you cant build that.
