Happy Oz Day! Thats Max and Goose from the first Mad Max movie (1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 and the 1975 XB Ford Falcon). And yep, Skyworks is on yet again, same music, same fireworks - all tax payers money. Im all for a little celebration, but really.... why does each year need to top the last? Couldnt the money for that 30mins of gun powder be spent in a more resourceful or imaginative way?? For me Australia day encourages reflection on the more sublime aussie acheivements such as the wonderful architectural commentary by Robin Boyd, the Mad Max movies, Paul Kellys songs and Paul Keatings insults. Seriously get stuck into all of these in your spare time and it will make you feel good about being Australian.
