Last year we had the privilege to work side by side with DKO Architects and Philip Stejskal Architect for one of Perths best developers, Fini Group on the EOI for SIte 38 at Montario Quarter in Shenton Park. You will know them from the highly successful work on the State Heritage buildings in the CBD. We are pleased to share the news the project team was the successful bidder for the property.
We worked on the adaptive re-use portion of the former hospital building 'Victoria House' built in 1938. Our design intent focused on turning the inside-out and breathing in new life with the lightest touch possible. You gotta love it when an old building gets a new lease of life - much like our work at the North Fremantle Town Hall site
Development Director Kyle Jeavons said to The West Australian, "Each of the six wings of the former hospital building will create opportunities for the community to interact over food and drink, house artists’ studios and potentially a future makers-type furniture and homewares outlet."
What another great asset for Perth and a great way to celebrate a former hospital building - especially relevant when all you need is three more letters to turn Hospital into Hospitality!?
