There are some new Cowboys in town.... and i mean Northbridge town. Have you been to Peoples Cafeteria yet?
Like the North Street Store in Cottesloe, we helped our good friends obtan their occupancy permit and wade through the paper work for the approval process. The City of Vincent were helpful..... some other Councils might want to take a leaf out their book - its about being flexible and supportive of small business, especially those that enchance the community fabric......
Founded by the same opoerators of the North Street Store and Big Loaf Factory with the intent to - "bring Home Cooking to Northbridge. It aint fancy, but its real, and whole and delicious. We are your home away from home for a home-cooked meal for a fair price."
This venue has a certain anti-establishment bravado. One which i can really admire..... where the focus is on the product and offering instead of the space. You may feel uncomfortable at first, as you've been Perth-washed into thinking new venues should be over-designed with brand new things inside them. Peoples is quite the contrary. Its a clear example that a well designed fitout is not required to bring in customers - its ALWAYS about good service and good products at a fair price.
The website carries the same anti-design tone: http://peoplescafeteria.com.au - i do like a clock widget.
Both the venue and the website are worth the visit - of course the food is awesome..... it was good to see the food pyramid back in business too!
